It pays to control your cost of material screening by using proper
installation and maintenance procedures. You can dramatically
increase the life of your screens, control costs, and do a more
efficient job of material screening by following these steps. |

Woven Screen Installation
-
Channel rubber or crown bar rubber must be replaced
before new screens are installed to assure longer screen life.
-
Use new tension bolts and tension all bolts equally
on both sides of the vibrator.
-
Screens should be centered on the deck before
clamping rails are applied.
-
Make certain butted screen panels are tight
together to avoid oversized material leakage.
-
Clamping rails must be exact length of the screen
panel being installed. Never overlap clamping rails.
-
After 4 to 8 hours of operation, retighten the
screen to take up and stretch that might occur.
Woven Screen Maintenance :
-
Inspect all clamping bars for corrosion and wear,
making sure bars are not warped or worn to the point that they
cannot provide even. tight tension.
-
Inspect all nuts and bolts. Replace all worn or
stripped parts in the screen assembly, and remember that all hole
positions on clamping bars must be used.
-
Maintain the support deck by removing the channel
rubber to inspect steel bars for wear, high and low spots or bar
breakage. Also check that the support area is uniform to ensure an
even and tight fit.
-
Change your channel rubber frequently. Samscreen,
Inc. recommends changing channel rubber every time the screen is
replaced, or at least every other time.
-
Inspect equipment for balance and excessive
vibration. An unbalanced machine can cause premature wire cloth
